It has been a pretty good week for Kacee Carlisle. The 32-year old rose six places in the annual PWI Female 50 which was released on Thursday, and last night, the 7-year pro ascended to the top of the National Wrestling Alliance mountain by winning the authority’s World Women’s Championship for the first time.
She defeated 3-time titleholder Tasha Simone as part of an NWA: Top Rope card in Lebanon, TN, ending the 20-year pro’s 300 day reign which began on December 25 last year when she beat Tiffany Roxx in a steel cage match. However, the match was not without incident and controversy…
In this heel v heel affair, both were happy to bend the rules to their advantage, and that was truly evident at the conclusion – as Carlisle went for the pin, Simone threw her foot over the bottom rope, but the referee didn’t see it and counted the three, earning Kacee the title. After the decision, Simone attacked the new champion and left her laying. There may be a rematch in the future, but before that, Carlisle has to defend the belt in New Jersey at an NWA Coastal show on November 17 against La Rosa Negra.
