After a month off, SHINE Wrestling returns on January 11 with SHINE 6, and a number of long-standing feuds may be settled, or more fuel may be thrown onto these fires…
For starters, Jessicka Havok and Reby Sky will collide once again after Havok won their match at SHINE 2 and then went after her opponent after the bell. The pair also had a face-off at SHINE 4 when Sky prevented her rival from delivering further punishment to Leva Bates after their contest.
The main event was meant to be a rematch between Jazz and Mercedes Martinez after their match at SHINE 2 was thrown out before it even started and after facing each other in tag team action at SHINE 5 in November. However, Jazz has had to remove herself from the card – marking the first show she will have missed – and Martinez will now face Jazz’s partner on SHINE 5 – Amazing Kong, which is more than a suitable replacement…
The other two matches announced for the show at the Orpheum in Ybor City, FL will see Christina Von Eerie and MsChif unite again to face the Made In Sin team of Taylor Made and our choice for Breakout Star of the Year, Allysin Kay. The pair faced each other on SHINE 2 with the heels getting the win after April Hunter revealed herself to be their hired muscle, taking out MsChif while she was on the apron. Von Eerie and Kay fought at SHINE 3 with Kay getting the win, and Made In Sin also attacked Von Eerie after the Spook City native was beaten by Rain at SHINE 4, which led to Von Eerie throwing out the challenge which will take place on this show.
The final announced match sees Kimberly – who is still a desperate search for her first victory in the promotion – wrestle Leva Bates. The pair fought at SHINE 3 and saw Kimberly slip further into a frustrating slump, though she talked Bates into being her partner at SHINE 5 – however, the pair were beaten by Made In Sin. After the match, Kimberly attacked her partner, solidifying her heel turn which was a long time in coming, and setting up this clash at SHINE 6.
Other names announced for the show include the returning Rain, Nikki Roxx, Mia Yim, Su Yung, Santana Garrett, Ivelisse Velez and Tina San Antonio as well as two debutantes in our choice of Discovery of the Year Kimber Lee – whose merits we have discussed in detail earlier this week – and high flying Canadian Leah Von Dutch, who has completed her first full calendar year as a wrestler, encompassing her first Japan trip where she wrestled for REINA x World in June, as well as debuting for nCw Femmes Fatales in early November, which included her being part of a 3-way with fellow Canadian Xandra Bale and joshi star Ryo Mizunami.
