SHINE 12 card finally announced

SHINE 12 posterWe say “finally announced” as SHINE Wrestling tends to be well on the ball with this sort of thing. With just nine days to go until the SHINE 12 iPPV, we now know most of the matches for the show on August 23 in Ybor City, FL.

Arguably the highest profile match sees former TNA Knockouts Champion Angelina Love taking on “Portugal’s Perfect Athlete” Shanna, who impressed a lot of people at Women Superstars Uncensored‘s Uncensored Rumble iPPV where she teamed with Chris Dickinson to fall to Addy Starr and Matt Tremont in mixed tag action and then went 30 minutes in the Rumble match itself, before coming back for the Combat Zone Wrestling iPPV in the evening in a losing effort to Nevaeh. Despite the defeats, she picked up a lot of new fans and should create a good deal of anticipation to see how she does against Love.

Elsewhere, Daffney‘s All Star Squad gets its first roll-out as Nikki Roxx and Solo Darling face the West Coast Connection of Su Yung and Tracy Taylor; Leva Bates steps into the ring against Christina Von Eerie, and Santana Garrett takes on the returning Brandi Wine, who last appeared at SHINE 8. Rounding off the announced matches is one which commentator Lenny Leonard is possibly going to struggle with – it’s SHINE’s resident loose screw Kimberly going up against the always-impressive Kimber Lee. Good luck with that, Lenny…

What is curious is that some of the names who had large involvement in the SHINE Title tournament for SHINE 11 still don’t have contests booked, despite being announced as appearing. For example, inaugural champion Rain and finalist Mia Yim don’t have anything set in stone; neither does Ivelisse Velez, who impressed in the tourney, while Jessicka Havok, Amazing Kong and Mercedes Martinez don’t have anything either. Based on what happened at the last show, Havok may call out Saraya Knight after the former SHIMMER Champion ostensibly eliminated her from the tournament through injury, while Rain’s first challenger for her title is likely to be revealed, and we’ll see if all is stable in Valkyrie after Rain cost Ivelisse a spot in the final by accidentally hitting her teammate in the head with her cast, causing her to lose to Yim… or was it an accident?
