New Zealand wrestler to receive WWE tryout?

Sara JayNew Zealand’s Sara Jay is reportedly set to receive a tryout with WWE. The rumour mill was kicked off with this post and was increased when United Pro Wrestling also made their own reference to it.

Standing just 5 feet tall and weighing around 100lb, the Australia resident’s first match took place back in 2001 at the age of 15 – since then she has travelled the world, wrestling in the US for promotions like CLASH Wrestling in 2010 and also in Puerto Rico where she won the World Wrestling Council Women’s Title in 2009 by beating Killer Kat before losing it a week later to Sweet Nancy in a 3-way which also included Kat.

Jay is also a model who has appeared in Playboy, and also competes as a fitness model – attributed in part to both of her parents being bodybuilders. On top of that, she also boasts her own clothing company called Bonita Fitnesswear.

The 27-year old hasn’t had it easy though. She has undergone open heart surgery in the past to close two holes in her heart – much like LuFisto, who discovered she had a 20mm hole after suffering a stroke in 2010 and had surgery to close it the following year – and also deals with a heart murmur.

It’s not clear as to when this rumoured tryout would take place. She may head to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL or it may take place during the company’s Australia tour in August.
