Fight Like A Girl: Vicky Bell from Vickstitch Customs

Vickstitch Customs

The first bite is with the eye – it’s a phrase used for food, as the presentation of a meal can go a long way to determining whether you will like the taste of it or not. To a certain extent, fans can do a smilier thing with wrestlers, as a combination of their look, music and choice of gear can make you like or dislike someone before they set foot in the ring, much less start wrestling.

To find out more about the challenges of creating eye-catching outfits, we’ve had a chat with Vicky Bell from Vickstitch Customs based in the north of England. Vicky got into making wrestling gear after doing it as a hobby, and has created designs for UK grapplers like Sammii Jayne, Debbie Sharpe, Lana Austin, Kirsty Love and Danielle Hunter – and the portfolio is constantly growing. Vicky also talks to us about whether men or women are more challenging to design for, the process of an outfit going from an idea to a reality, and which of her customers pushes her to be more creative. It’s an interesting interview from an aspect of the wrestling business to which we don’t often give much thought – have a listen.
