British Title tournament set for Bellatrix 11, plus Champion v Champion match announced

Bellatrix outline

Life can lead you in some strange directions. Just six weeks after winning the Bellatrix British Championship at Bellatrix X, the title has been declared vacant after holder Penelope made the decision to step away from the ring for a while. Consequently, the promotion has elected to hold a tournament at Bellatrix 11 on December 13 in Norwich, England to crown a new champion, which will feature two women who have held the title as well as two women making their debuts in the promotion.

Former titleholders Erin Angel and Violet O’Hara will meet Bacardi and debutante Nixon Newell respectively in the opening round, while the other first-timer Addy Starr has a tough job against Queen of the Ring Lady Lory, who has already proved this year that she has what it takes to win a tournament. The final opening round match sees the return of Aurora Flame after close to 18 months away – she’ll face Chanel, who is looking to capitalise on her first win in the promotion when she beat Saraya Knight in September.

Speaking of Saraya, she and her opponent Miss Mina will be looking to get back to winning ways after losing their matches at Bellatrix X, though the matriarch of the promotion will likely be keeping an eye on another non-tournament match on the card, which sees the other two champions take on each other. World Champion Liberty will meet RQW European Women’s Champion Sammi Baynz, though neither title will be on the line, and the latter will likely have to watch out for a revenge attack from Saraya after kicking the hornet’s nest at the last show by costing Knight her match against Chanel, which led to the pair brawling to close out the event after Baynz beat Blue Nikita in a builders’ cage to retain her belt.

Rounding off the show is Shax and Lilli Fae facing Elsie Paige and Elise, who have elevated from the youth matches to the main card.

It was a surprise to see that Bellatrix was squeezing in another event before the end of 2014 but it should see a continuance of the Sammi/Saraya feud, and will guarantee the crowning of a new British Champion. We’ll be in attendance to bring you results as they happen.
